CHS donates $4,588 to White Lake Fire Department November 20, 2024 Through the CHS Seeds for Stewardship program, White Lake Fire Department is receiving $4,588. These funds will be used to purchase a battery-operated chainsaw to better serve residents in their district. “After a review of our equipment, it was determined that a battery-operated chainsaw would help our fire department better serve our communities,” says Scott Moeller, fire chief, White Lake Fire Department. “Funds from the CHS Seeds for Stewardship program will allow us to purchase this piece of equipment. The addition of a battery-operated chainsaw will allow faster response times when debris must be cleared and it will increase the safety for the volunteer firemen when completing rescues.” The CHS Seeds for Stewardship program supports requests that strengthen and uplift hometown communities. Priority is given to projects that align with ag safety and farmer well-being, agriculture education and rural community vitality. The funds like those being donated by CHS Farmers Alliance are part of the CHS commitment to empower a safer, stronger rural America through financial support that goes directly back into communities where CHS owners, customers and employees live, work and do business. “CHS is proud to offer our support to the White Lake Fire Department,” says Ben Lyden, senior director of operations, CHS Farmers Alliance. “It is imperative for cooperatives to give back to our local communities. Our patrons, customers and employees rely on the availability of emergency services, and we are happy to provide financial assistance to help the White Lake Fire Department purchase life-saving equipment.” Since 2019, CHS ag retail and feed mill locations have donated more than $1.09 million to local communities and organizations through CHS Seeds for Stewardship.
